HOW TO BE PART TIME TRAINER FOR AN ORGANISATION
I want to take up projects as a Part-time trainer for organizations.
Can a trainer work for more than 1 organization simultaneously.

As part time trainer, what are the earnings that one can expect? Terms & conditions :both from the organisation's & trainer's point of view..

Are the trainers paid on hourly basis.......

Any other info that a part time trainer is required to know..
Kindly advice.

Hi Theresa,

Same like you even i am looking to adopt a job as part time trainer and i worked as an core HR-Executive for an year and looking for a job now, meanwhile hv joined SAP-HR so want to earn some extra bucks, v r in the same boat.

One of my HR manager's used to participate in workshops which could be a 2 or 5 days training workshop, per day she used to earn 4,000/-.

But not sure of the drawbacks from the present organisation which may not support dual jobs.

Hey Theresa, this posting ws in Nov'2006, Hope you may hv got enough of info fr ur above queries, wud u like to share it wid the forum.

Rekha,
Hyderabad.

Re: HOW TO BE PART TIME TRAINER FOR AN ORGANISATION
Hi Thressa,

Part-time trainers can work in more than one organization outside your part-time hours. However, your appointment/part-time assignment letter must not specify that you cannot impart training in any other organization. Be careful in signing up such a letter! Also be careful on any clause that specifies that you cannot disclose any confidential assignment/training/material that you use in an organization, for any other organization.

You can certainly take up multiple assignments as a part-time trainer.

Part-time training assignments normally are based either on monthly payout for working part-time in a Company. Or, it may be based on number/hours of training imparted. Or, still, it could be a packaged payment based on specific type or areas of training that you have to conduct (say, one day programme on a particular subject translated into XX number of training programmes in a month).

Your payment rate will depend on the following :

1. Your personal brand-value (i.e. are you a well known trainer/senior
trainer)
2. Your type of training (technical/process/project/soft skills-behavioural)
3. Quality of training depending on the subject and who are the target
audience (i.e. how senior are they in the Company).
4. Going-rate for that particular type of training.

Rates can really vary from as low as Rs 2,000 to anything upwards to even Rs 1,00,000 or more for a single (half-day/full-day) training.

Part-time monthly rate could be ranging from Rs 4,000/- per month to anything upwards, even 1,00,000 or more....again depends on the above points enumerated above.
