Hi Bhardwaj,
Suppose in Cell A1, you are writing the Start Date/DOJ and in Cell B1, you wish to calculate the confirmation date, which is 6 months/180 days from the start date.
Pls follow the following steps:
1. In cell B1, type "=A1+180"
2. Right Click on the cell--> Select Format Cells
3. Click on Tab 'Number', select 'Date option below' and select 'Date Type' e.g. dd/mm/yyyy or dd-mm-yy

Please find attached document related to your first query here it will give you the exact date as some of the months have a problem of having days like some month have feb has 28 or 29 days some of the month have 30 and 31 days but the formula in attached excel sheet will perfectly work
