Hi Deepa,
Have you tried taking references from candidates who come for interview through magic questions
In fact, you can get loads of references through this and in fact, discuss this with your business managers and ask them to practice it with every candidate they meet and i a m sure they will be able to get good numbers
apart from this, you may do the head hunting, interacting with people from the networking cites and share your requirements etc
hope this will help you.......
Thanks,
- Mirza

Also you can contact district employment exchanges for Database. Also you can get Database of ex students from graduation, Post Graduation colleges, universities, evening colleges if you are looking to hire freshers.
Post the job in Linked in. Register with naukrinews.com. Always you will be getting resumes in your mail by doing so.
Most of us, the recruiters, forget old database and resumes. The resumes we collected past six months or one year help a lot. We should be ready to spend time to go through such resumes. The applicant might have got rejected or on hold, or did not turn up for further rounds for several reasons. In course of time we archieve it & forget those CVs. 3 to 4 percent can be recruited from this.

Mahesh
