Hi,
All consultants / HR Recruiters,
Can anyone please tell me how a recruiter maintains and searches from a database of resumes (not online naukri, monster etc) what I am speaking is abt the resumes which are received by the consultancy .
How to maintain a database of resumes. Is there any readymade software for maintaining resumes or you have customised something in Excel and MS Access.
Is there any coding for easy searching by keyword in database, to avoid repition of same resume etc etc etc
Please do reply...
Also if this is not the relevant section for my post, please suggest where should I post my topic. As here there are so many sections exactly i dont know where to post, as this section seemed most relevant to my query so posted it ...
THANKS :? :? :?

Hi Ravi,
You can try Pranav which is one of the dynamic software which I have seen for recruitment cycle. The product is stable and can be customised also. You can logon to their website and view a demo. If you are interested let me know I can give the contact details of the CEO.

Hi,
If you have programs such as ACT! or Microsoft Outlook you can categorize them in your contacts, there is a file associated with each contact in which to enter in particulars such as RF Engineer- John Smith, you can also upload resumes and format them with your company letter head, this is especially great on ACT! as you have many different tabs in which to do this. Then there is the printing of resumes and categorizing them in your file cabinet and when you need a candidate for a particular position reach for your file and search there first then pull new resumes.

what is ACT! give me the download link for it someone ,, well at present I am having some urgent work, would need someones help to make this project,, just for fun and to see whether we can manage it at home or not in case of any small consultancy instead of spending on outside software why not customize our own software if our business is small,, that is the main motive behind starting this all posts

Google it! Just type in ACT! and it will direct you to the site. It is a neat program, I believe it has a trial for about 30 days. This software is awesome, you can keep track of your conversations that you have with candidates or clients, you can email from the program, you can group your contacts into categories, the online version's database can be enlarged to hold your information and you can log onto the program from wherever you are, home, office, but you must download the program onto your server, all of your employees can use it. You will love it!

Hello Mr. Ravi,
I read all the posts on this topic previously as well. your idea seems to be really good. i didn't understand the concept of mailing the documents to a separate id and retrieving it from there. kindly explain me that.

seperate ID is because , in the database the information which we send is totally systematic, and candidates just send their resumes without proper format, subject line etc.. So its a check, wherein some changes are made as per our convenience and then forwarded to the special ID , which is downloaded in outlook exp as database, if you are interested and would like to implement this ,, I can help you further with steps to prepare a decent in house database,,,
THANKS for showing interest.
