Hi Sharda,
For PF max limit is 780/- as the Basic ceiling in this is less than equal to 6500. therfore, 12% of 6500( max limit) =780/- only for both employees and employer.
In case of ESI the wage ceiling is Rs. 10000 so, max limit for ESI= 1.75% of 10000 that equals to Rs. 175/- only from employee's contribution and employer's contribution=4.75% of 10000= Rs.475.
Hope you got your query clear.

Hi Dilip,
The PF deduction is 12% on Basic+DA. At present there is prescribed limit for PF pay is Rs.6500/=. In that case u have to deduct Rs.780/=
OR if your employer is agree for PF deduction on the Pay (Basic+DA) exceeding Rs 6500/= u may deduct accordingly.
So far the ESI deduction is concern, it is on Gross pay @1.75%. The prescribed limit for the same is equal to or less than Rs 10,000/=

Thanks for Surya-Mukherjee for the correct answer I am following the same rule that even if the salary is incresed inbetween contribution period and even if it is more than 10,000/- i.e 12,000/- till sept of the contribtuon we must recover esi contribution on 12.000/-
But the post by Richrachna on 3/8/07 and hrshah on 14/8/07 it is mentioned as maximum limit for ESI recovery is 10,000/- and contribution on 10,000/- is Rs.175/- which is little confusing any other senior member may give their view on this please
I am a new member and i am very much thanks for the senior member for their good view in many more subjects.
