Hi All, Can anyone provide latest Min Wages change of Uttaranchal & Jharkhand. Sumita Nagpur
From India, Hyderabad

Rajesh,
Have a look on below formula
15 days salary for each completed year = (Basic Salary+DA)/26 Days*15 Days
Gratuity = 15 days salary * total completed years of service.
The rule is that service should be continuous and the person is liable to get gratuity only after retirement.

Dear Mr.Manilam,
Your formula for calculation of gratuity is OK. But there are certain points also to be considered while creating a formula. One is the eligibility. The minimum years of completed service for eligibility is FIVE. If one has completed 4 years 6 months service, he will also be eligible. Second point is that while calculating the total number of years of service, the days of service after completed years are not considered porportionately. The last year service will be rounded off to one year if the employee crossed six month service on that year. Otherwise those days will not be counted. This point has to be considered while creating the formula. Otherwise the result will be incorrect.

The actual formula for Gratuity is your last drawn basic + DA/26*15*no of years worked in the organisation.
if you have completed 4 years 6 months than too it is considered as 5 years for the calculation of gratuity.

Dear Akhilesh, Even if an employee has completed 4 years 6 month he is eligible for gratuity.
