Hi Friends
When we put something in appointment letter for the confirmation, i know it could be extendable if the employee is not performing well...say, after 6 months an employee would be getting a confirmation letter..
But my query is: for how much long period, we cannot confirm an employee during his/her job???
Kindly post your suggestions..
Thanks & Regards
Mani

Dear Manya,
what you have quoted is absolutely right....
If the employee has not performed well in his / her probation period, then their confirmation can be extended...
The extension of the Probation period is at the discretion of HOD / Line Manager in consultation with the HR...
A situation might arise wherein an employee may even be asked to leave if he / she does not perform well even after the extension of the probation period...

Hi Ankit
I absolutely agreed with your statement..
But again my question is same.. what would be the legal or justified maximum period for the probation..
Say, if X has time for promotion or appraisal and he/she didn't get the confirmation even after completion of more than one year and suddenly he/she get to know that appraisal would not be there as he/she is not confirmed (X HAS NOT BEEN TOLD FOR HIS/HER PERFORMANCE WITHIN THAT PERIOD)..
What are the suggestions you can give after knowing all these things....
Regards
