Labour license - less than 50 employees - contractor & sub-contractor will get exemption?
With regard to labour license i have following queries. 1 is principal employer certificate existing valid upto dec18 is required to be renewed even if none of the contractors in individual capacity have 50 or more employees ? 2 is a contractor company required to obtain/ renew labour license if its own employees are only 18 but its subcontractor has about 38 employees ? or both contractor & subcontractor will get exemption ? kindly send your valuable opinions at the earliest.

Dear seniors we are into civil engineering consultancy & testing work and carry out work all across india. we often have small and big projects at various locations across india. we engage our own employees as well as contractor s labour for these sites. some of these contractors do not have proper registration/license. our sites may vary from 1 day to 2 years. my query is regarding labour license. 1 do we need to apply for a labour license for each project even if the work is for a single day? 2 for huge projects we get labour license but for small projects say for a couple of days by the time we obtain the license the work is over. in this case what are we supposed to do? 3 does labour license vary from site to site if the work is carried out in different districts of the same state but fall under different jurisdiction of labour department? i mean can we obtain a single labour license for a particular period and carry out work at different locations in the same district or different districts during this particular period? request seniors to provide guidance especiallu umakanthan sir of he happens to view this post thanks in advance
Labour license compliance in case of subcontracting
In case a contract has been awarded to a contractor a who further subcontratcs a portion to contractor b. contractor a has taken the labour license for 85 people and since there a 15 people in the part subcontracted contractor b has not taken the laobour license. overall there are 100 manpower but since subcontracting has been done 15 people are working without license. is it technically correct?

Issue of labour license
Dear all here is a peculiar case. usually form v is to be given by the principal employer to the contractor for obtaining the license. but though the contractor has put several mails and letters there is no proper response from the principal employer. so in order to avoid future judicial problems is there an alternate way for contractor to obtain license. please update and help solve this issue.
