Re: Dress code
Hi,

Number of view shared by people..all are right..My personal experience of attending so many interviews and now preparing students for interviews says that in Indian scenario, a descent saree (cotton / synthetic- depending on the weather/season) and Punjabi suits (with dupattas) are considered as formal dresses for women. As now we are having many MNCs in India, if one is in good shape, she may choose to wear western formals, too. Such dressing is mostly preferred in IT companies to suit the culture.

Just we must avoid vibrant colors, transperent textures, and lots of kadhai/ jarri work, etc. to maintain the descent look..
In my view, a properly starched and pressed descent colored cotton saree is the most apt formal dressing for interviews, seminars, conferences, classes, etc.

Thank you,

Mrinal

Re: Dress code
Hi Priyaas,

Greetings!!

I hope you have gone through the earlier posts. And from what I understand, I guess that you can wear a cotton salwar kameez without any fancy stuff on it. You can go in for light and pleasant shades which suits you and make you feel good/comfortable... something which reflects your personality and confidence.

Hope it helps.

All the best for the interviews.

Best Regards,
Prathibha

U need to be dressed smartly n neatly first of all.And u can wear salwar kameez or saree its not a question if u dont wear western outfits thn either of these is fine. But make sure watevr u wear u carry it off well n dont be conscious abt it.

Re: Dress code
Hi All,
I understand that the meaning of the word "personality" is that "it is sum toatl of inward and outwardly qualities". So, dress suiting the occasion should only be worn. This creates a good feeling to others as well. I will give an absurd example of dress - "At the funeral of someone if your wear suit length of decent saree , you can imagine what people around you will speak of you-- "an insane person". Propepr dress should always be worn suiting the occasion.
