Is pf applicable to trainees?
Hello all i have some questions. list1 are pf deductions applicable to the candidates who have joined an organisation as management trainees and graduate engineer trainees? if no then why? can an organisation exempt itself from pf regarding management trainees and graduate engineer trainees? is it possible for an organisation to pay pf and deduct accordingly to certain management trainees and graduate engineer trainees pertaining to a particular unit/plant of an organisation and not paying to others i.e. mts & gets posted at other units/plant? please throw some light regarding this matter as it is being practised by a psu. thanks

Management trainees vs ordinary trainees
Our company has 2 schemes for management students: 1.they have a list of b schools from where they take in management trainees on a specified ctc 2.students from b schools other than the 45 specified in the list are taken on as executive trainees on a much lower package. recently we shortlisted a couple of students for management trainee position hr .the existing executive trainees are feeling bad coz they have been working here for the past 45 months and now the mts will join on a much higher ctc . this has brought down the motivation level of the existing trainees who are very talented and have high potential. our hr director is not willing to raise their salaries the difference between the two levels is somewhere around 3.5 lacs pa. what do you think can be done in this case? a to retain the talented people who though not from the specified institutes are extremely hard working and smart. b to bring about a balance in the two schemes? kindly suggest.
Deduction of provident fund (pf) of management trainees & factory apprentice.
Respected all greetings of the day i have one query that our organization hires management trainees & factory apprentice not covered under apprenticeship act. but we do not deduct pf of this category trainees. now i just want to know that whether it is mandatory to deduct pf contribution of these trainees/apprentices and if yes than as per which law of which act. your cooperation will be highly thank full. rahul
