Dear Seniours,
I have a doubt regarding ESIC.
If an employee joins organisation on 5th June 11 and he leaves the organisation on 7th June 11.
In that case, is it necessary to obtain his ESIC no for compliance.
Request for guidance please.
Yours sincerely,
Amod

You can pay the contribution to ESI for these two days number allocation to "cases" like this is not mandatory. Make sure you are making the payment to the Government.

Dear Experts,
without giving his wages or salary to the employee, how you can pay the amount to government ????
do u mean to say that both employee and employer contribution should go to Government ???
In this case, either the employee or the company is going to benefit out it except the Government is minting money like anything in ESIC. If the employee is not going to benefit why should we pay to Government unnecessarily ????
Amod - don't bother about this.

Dear Amod,
It is not clear that you have paid to that employee or not? if paid the ESIC should be deducted and should deposit in to Govt. Account. For valid ESIC no. you have to contact with the local ESIC office.
With thanks

Dear Amod,
Your query is very practical and compel everyone to think on it even it looks easy.
Basically, every person whose name arrived on the muster roll of the establishment or factory has to be enrolled or registered to the ESI within 10 days of his joining and obviously the contribution should be paid to the ESI fund even if he has worked for 1 or 2 days whatever.
Secondly, now a days ESI contribution has been initiated through on line and you have to submit it on line where you have to enroll or register each new entrant on line otherwise you should not complete the data and could not obtain on line generated challan.
So, it is very easy to register an employee on first day of his joining and you could easily obtain his TIC Alongwith medical card whithin five seconds.
Hope It shall help you much.

KIRAN KALE.
