Could any please guide me through the steps to
measure attrition in a firm which has Technology staff,Business Domain Experts, and Process Staff (needless to say all differ in their qualification and expectation)
Design predictive model for managers so that they can look out for signs of attrition
Factors affecting attrition
incentive and compensation design to retain talents.
I know it is asking for too much but any help in the right direction can help me gaining insights into the domain.

Attrition rate % = (No of people moved out of the organisation during the period / Total no of people in the organisation during the period) * 100

There is no specific formula for Attrition rate except explained above. However, the more important part is to know Why attrition. Look at my following post for at least one reason...

Is the calculation in the attachment your own or based on some theory given by any scholar? That gives no reference to any background reference.
Can you please quote background reference for the formula used in the paper?

I precisely need help in finding out the factors affecting the attrition that can be used by managers as a predictive model to forecast attrition.

Dear Gobind Babu,
In fact attrition rate is not that simple to be calculated, as no fixed formula can be applied due to different reasons. If you calculate the attrition rate on monthly or quarterly basis every time you can get different figures, which is not fair. So, annual rate of attrition is considered to be appropriate.
Normally, the following formula can be considered as quite a fair formula to calculate attrition rate in any organization:
Attrition =(No. of employees who left in the year / average employees in the year) x 100
