Hi Birinderjit, Dont expect motivation from someone, sometimes you will get but many time you will not get. Self motivation is the best one. Every HR’s get motivated by themselves.

Dear Balaji,
Thank you for your kind response.
I am working as HR & Marketing officer and have recently joined the company. This company is very small. My colleagues are 5-6 years old in the company and they are on a different profile than mine. They are jealous that i have been appointed on the higher scale than theirs.
One of my colleague talks in very bad way. Of this rude behavior, yesterday i had fight with her. We are just talking for official purposes.
Kindly please help me out that:
1. How to handle this colleague?
2. How to low down this jealousy factor?

Regards,
Birinderjit

Hi,
Seniors always degrade juniors its common one. You just follow these steps just trial & error method.
*Wish to them morning and while leaving you office say bye nothing wrong in that whether its junior or senior.
*Keep smiling at them. show ur smile face
*ask suggestion and advice even you are senior this is just to mingle with them
*Dont ever fight with your colleages keep calm, polite yourself even they are wrong
*treat yourself as a Low Profile it is a corporate word.
*find out why they are jealousy if it is pay factor you cant do anything in that.
*sit with them on lunch time not necessary in all the time just some times.
*never show your angry on them.
FIrst follow these if work out continue the same if not do let me know will try some other solution.

Dear Birinderjit
Motivation is required for those who does not have their own. As a matter of fact, we are the motivating factor and we motivate the entire organisation. Your question is like that electrical bulb is giving light when it connected with Power, if power is not there then bulb will not give light, but which will give energy to the power?
Here Generator will give the power. In an organisation the generator is the Management and for some other the generator is the almighty only where the HR people not getting proper support from management.
So dear, Never expect that someone from outside will come and motivate us to achieve our organisational goals. You must be a self driven motivator. Please have it in your mind that NO ONE CAN DEMOTIVATE ME UNTIL UNLESS I WANT TO BE.
All the best

Dear All,
This is wonderful and I must confess we have all spoken well. The best person who can motivate you is YOU. An HR person is usually self-motivated, very enthusiastic and very passionate about others than self. That is why the position is not for just anybody. It is a reserved and reverend position.

Dear All,
As a newly joined in a typical mfg org. one have to have enough self motivation to work. From my short time exposer as an Assistant Manager HR, its my job to look after all the small small grievances in the office from the senior level and also sub ordinate level. But there is no one to know about my grievances, Its not possible to have a word with the Director every time with small small matter. So.......... one have to have high self motivating factor to work in a HR dpet.
Thanx & Rgds

Hi All,
I appreciate Birinderjit for raising this discussion, and I do agree on all your points on Self Motivation & Passionate HR professional etc etc...
But to think from our side once, We are also Human Beings even we need work motivation and Grevience. Am not sure how many HR professionals are really satisfied in their wok and getting motivation from the management.
When employee raises any issue HR should get back to them but as HR person where should he go???
Seniors.. Your views are highly appreciated :)

Hallo friends
Very interesting discussion and suggestion but for HR person it is uneasy expectation & no one can motivate if we have not capability to be self motivated.
Acording to me u must be optimistic to get but if not u must be able to cope up and self motivated.
In my service period i have felt that if ur deptt / boss is not supportive no one will support.
thanks

Dear All

Mr Balaji has given wonderful tips to overcome jealosy from a colleague - I just add one more point, be honest while implenting all the tips given by him and it works !!

Ms.Shilpa

HR persons are self motivated. However, as a you say, he is also a human being and he also will have his own grievances. If it comes to any official issues, whatever the policies that work for others, applies to him also and he has to obey the same first and work within those boundaries only ! The law is made by him and the first person to respect that is himself !! With this understanding, his 50% grievances are solved !

If any new grievances are there which are not within the scope of the policies that are existing and if it is different, he/she can always approach the ultimate superior - the MD or CEO or ED or Chairman. Beyond that, it is only God who can help him/her.

However, a HR person is the one, who is self-motivated and should ever have hopes that there are INFINITE opportunities for him to overcome his own grievances !!
