HI rajesh, Basic criteria for Ph.D. is first class in master degree, and first clear entrance examination(PAT). Mphil is not compulsry for that.

Hello Dear,

As Mr. Deshmukh has provided details about eligibility criteria for Ph.D. from UGC recognized universities is appropriate. The aspirant who willing to do Ph.D. in any stream, must have to hold master degree 1st Class or for appearing candidate after result declaration must have to get such percentage marks as require, mention in the Pre-registration test application. After submission of the registration form for Ph.D PRT( Pre Registration Test), must have to prepare for general objectives type questions, optional subject related objective type questions and also optional theoretical/subjective type question in which subject the candidate hold master degree. The no. of questions and duration of exam may vary from one university/institute to other. Please check where in your are applying.

After passing the PRT test the candidate have to select topic & make enroll with the registered/permanent faculty of such university/ institute who hold doctorate (Ph.D.) degree. And then after the assent of faculty/teacher make synopsis and approve it through the concern university/institute approving authorities. After getting approval of topic make registration for Ph.D. Pursuation. After registration, the thesis/research should need to complete within the specified time, and submit to the concern approving authorities for receiving Ph.D. degree.
