The notification is for shops, etc. But does not talk of offices (commercial establishment). so does this mean offices still don’t need to do this till they have 20 employees ?

dear saswatabanerjee,
Yes of course that word was missed.
But the earlier notification you can spot a word "non-factory establishments".
I am also waiting for our fellow members comments on this.

Dear All,
Our company had an employee strength of 150+ and we are not providing PF benefits to our employee.
Can someone share the basics knowledge regarding the same.
While consulting with the HR team in the company they informed us that with a min package of 6600+ they can skip this benefits. Is it really possible????

Dear Kirti,
As pe PF Rule, all employee will be covered under PF if their BASIC+DA will be less then 6500/- and it's mandatory. So, if you explain your pay structure of "min package of 6600+" then it'll be easy to explain details.
Regards.

Dear Mr Sethupathy
The present notification issued by the State Government concerned is under Section 1(5) of the ESI Act, 1948. By virtue of the amended provisions all the non power establishments whether it is shop or commercial establishment Road Transport establishment eductional and medical institutions etc., everything where in a service is going on for price and employed 10 persons irrespective of their salary limit is amenable under the provisions of the Act. In Andhra Pradesh it is with efffect from 15-04-2011 where as in other States, it depends upon the date on which the relevant notification under section 1(5) is issued by the concerned State Governments. I hope the point is cleared.
