Hi All,
Please guide me how to switch to IT HR role to Manufaturing HR role?
Myself having 4yrs of HR experience in IT sector?( Recruitement and little bit of employee engagement role), but some how i feel not getting much exposure for general HR role. Kindly suggest whether it is possible to switch to Manufacturing sector, if yes Please guide what new things i need to learn for this sector.
Do you think manufaturing people consider my profile or not.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
First u should understand the role of HR in IT and in Manufacturing Sector.
Role of HR in IT industry is limited.. but in Manufacturing sector it is vice versa.. HR has to take care of everything from entry of an employee to exit level.. also includes EMP.Engagement, payroll process,Performance management and now days HR in manufacturing sectors are also being forced to do Admin works like housekeeping, conflict resolution, attendence maintanence and everything that comes under management..also the atmosphere in manufacturing units are entirely different when comparing the IT sectors..but u can learn a lot in man.sectors. if ur really eager to switch over ,then first aim for small scale man. units.. get some experience in general HR process and then u can try for MNC's...
ALL THE BEST

Ranjitha,
I dont think joining in training courses can give u the real exposure..Myself worked in IT companies for 3 years as HR Executive and now i have switched over to Man.Units in chennai. real time training will not help u . they will just teach u the process and u cant acquire any practical experience there. also the cost is too high.. better join in small companies where u can get a exp. stay there for atleast 1 year. and then try for big sectors..
