How can the company manage? A country like India where the population is very high and the supply of labour is highly elastic, I don't think that the proposed increase in maternity leave would benefit companies which are struggling to exist in the market especially due to competition from foreign companies. If given, I doubt if the employability of women will decrease to a great extent.

"All establishments, including in private sector, will have to provide 26-week maternity leave to their women employees under a new bill, which the government plans to push in the upcoming Monsoon Session, Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said today." this news is right?????

Yes, there is a bill to amend the Maternity Benefit Act but no idea if it will be passed and when it will be incorporated in the Act. Until the Act gets amended the present rules will follow
