I am an MBA(HR) fresher. I joined in a consultancy just after finishing my course. Now I get Job offers from consultancies as HR Executive and some offers in small corporates. Please guide me in choosing a better career in the HR Field. |

I think consultancies are the best place to learn recruitment. Technically u may not be strong. But if you are into IT recruitment, u need to have some sort of technical knowledge which you can gather in consultancy. You would not have anyone to train you in a corporate.

Starting a career as an HR Executive we learn the recruitment process. But being in a corporate we are a HR generalist. Where do we find more career growth and development. Will the expercince in a consultancy be valued for our future growth...

| | Re: Starting career with consultancies??? there is no much difference as to where you have come from, consultancy or company. The focus would be on how much value do u add or deliver. I find most of the ppl working in consultancies very competent from the knowledge point of view (technical knowledge to recruit a techno savy person) but he may not be good as a recruite. Because, a recuiter needs to have lot of other skills, say, negotiation skills etc to choose the right candidate.
But in a corporate, you will get to know lot of things that won't be possible in a consultancy. So if you already have consultancy experience, do go for a corporate exposure. It may be a small org, but you would learn a lot..
