We have 'mandatory' research papers, we have gifted brains. We have four-lac strong force working all over the world writing codes, executing projects under the guidance of others to create wonders. We have come a long way since; can't we create something which others have never thought of? Who is responsible to imbibe this insufficiency in our education system?

Dear Chinmoy,
Good question. Innovative mindset comes out of change orientation. Change orientation comes because of leadership qualities. Leadership qualities come out of pride - personal, professional and national.
We the Indians prefer to be led by others. This is because for a millennium or so we were ruled by foreigners. After all can there be anything saddening than reading a proverb "there are too many captains and not many Indians". Europe and US dismissed India as nation of workers. Workers do innovate but under the aegis of their masters.
The things have come to such a pass partly because our education system. Our education system is a result of garbled polity and garbled polity is a result of constitution.

Dear M. Chinmoy,
Upcoming B-SCHOOLS are in the process of changing EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM. You will find examples of this who have initiated the process.
Update yourself about whats cooking in the education industry.
The problem with Indians is that "THEY DON'T TAKE ACTION TILL THEY ARE COMPELLED TO DO IT" Just imagine if we could have taken ACTION then most of the things could have changed by now.
With profound regards

This is a great question! Since it also implies that why we are poor and west is rich - Robert lucas won Noble prize by raising this question (why we are rich and they are poor?).
In my opinion roots goes to thousands years of monarchy system, they did not establish educational institutions in the sub-continent. Therefore, we find illetrate people even today as education was not the priority, could not be inculcated in the mindset.
After education system, I think legal system is not very supportive for innovation. The case of weak implementation of copyrights is the key point here. Innovations need reward and protection. Since, a person put efforts to innovate something or develop some idea and (s)he would not receive proper reward, instead many other people enjoy copying his/her innovation, then who will put efforts in such a thankless job.
