dear seniors
our is a small pvt ltd firm with only 3 employees (but a part of very large real state group), mumbai. we are into facilitily management (Service provider).
We do not have ESI because of high pay and less no of manpower.
So is it mandatory to us to take workmen compensation policy if yes then what are the policies, compnies which provided it.
Is there any any abstract or notification by government to support this ?

Dear
As per the defenition of employee those (viii) employed in the construction, maintenance, repair or demolition of - (a) any building which is designed to be or is or has been more than one story in height above the ground or twelve feet or more from the ground level to the apex of the roof is included.
Facility Management will come within the meaning of Maintenance .
It is better that you take out the policy . In case the Insurer i.e the Insurance Company is not offering it then you can go in for Accident Benefit Policy .

Hi Yaasmin, I am fully argreed upon the comment of Praveen. If the employees are out ESI they should covered under WC policy. Regards Amruta
