hi all,
i want to know that if a company (established under bombay shops and establishment acts) delays to pay the salary of the employees by more than 12 days, what can the employees do about it?, is their any compensation or something which the company should give to the employee for such a delay in the salary.

Hi All

Can anyone tell me whats is Trade Refuse Charges under Bombay Shops and Establishment Act, 1948, why is it levied and is it mandatory for all compsnies seeking renewal of license under the act to pay it?

bombay shops establishments Act, (Registration)
pls tell me can a company file the registration form in the name of director as a employer or it should file in the company name as a employer

Dear Jayshree,

As per Bombay Shops & Establishment Act, 1948
followinng ragister should be maintain regularly.

  • Generally the following Registers/ records/ notices etc. are to be kept by the different categories Register of Employment :
  • Employers of Shop or Commercial Establishment ---- In prescribed form ‘H’ or ‘J’ as the case may be. Register of leave in form ‘M’ Leave Book in form ‘N’ Notice in form ‘L’ specifying the days of holidays.
  • To maintain a Muster-Roll – Cum-Wage Register as laid down under Rule 27(1) of Maharashtra Minimum Wages Rules 1963.
  • Notify to the Sr. Inspector (Shops & Establishments) at the beginning of the every calender year regarding list of closed day of the respective year.
  • The employer has to provide Identity Cards to the certain class of employees.
  • The Employer has to apply for seeking permission to maintain computerized records
  • The employer also has to obtain permission for ladies working beyond 8.30 p.m. under Sec 33 of the Act. (However as per the notification dated June 2002, Government has waived such conditions with respect to certain class of industries including CALL CENTRES.

As per my knowlege;
You can ragistration on director name & also you can registration on compny name.
Manager/Director are resposible for organization.
They should be submite his Photo ID Proof & Resident Proof.

Leave policy under shop & establishment act
Our company is giving 21 paid leaves and 12 bank holidays in a yr...... we work 6 days in a week......can anyone pls tell me if this is as per the law or do we have to introduce any changes....
