Dear Dipti,
Early Going Policy & late coming policy vary from organisation to organisation as like we have system of one short leave of 2 hrs allowed every month after that going early makes half day absent for the employees.
& for late coming , we allow maximum two authorised/ sanctioned regularisation by HOD of the dept.. those who have crossed the two regularisation , marked as half day.
See Dipti,
there should be system for every thing , you can have some other way for handling early going and late coming but every task and every work becomes easier when we perform under / with system.

Its very simple and is allways top driven. There is no fun of over staying if u r coming late in morning. You are spending net hrs in a indiciplined way. It looks very good if a staff is following but if same thing starts at operator level or at lower staff level it starts irritating. Better to change the habits of be in time. Morning must come in time and evening must leave the office in time. Once awhile late sitting I feel no one mind but late sitting regular practice is spoiling ur family as well as affecting ur performance at work also.

It is simply a mind set. Calculate ur affective efficient working hours it will allways be less than 4-5 hrs in a day.....

Dear Dipti,
Keep 15 minutes grace period for every employee, if your regular office timing is 9.30 then keep grace period upto 9.45 (15 minutes) for every employee after that you can count late comings. If somebody came 10 times late in particular month then you can count ½ day for every 3 late marks.
(You should ignore first 3 late marks)

Hi,
as rajendra said, you can keep 15 minutes as grace period. after that you can mark late if some one is coming after grace period. every third or forth late coming can be treated as half day leave.
similarly, you can give two hours of relaxation in evening. e.g. if your office hours are from 9.30 to 6.30 then if employee leave after 4.30 PM it can be marked as early out. every third or forth early out will be treated as half day leave.
i hope it helps you.

Here I would like to narrate a small story
Once a staff left office early and next day boss asked him about previous day's early pack up
He told Sir, I have seen a traffic Board by the side of the road
Start Early, Drive Slowly and Reach Safely, That's the reason I started early from Office and drove slowly and reached home safely.
His boss told why you are not adhering the same in morning hours
He told that It is not possible to follow all the rules at all times Sir.

Dear Upinder Kaur,
First thing tell your office boy to open the office at 9.30 am
Put a mail to your all staff regarding office timing & mention your office time & give a strict warning as above & also make deduction if you want such a result.
Every body will try to reach in office hours within two three months.

Lol.... good one Bosss...!
Well for me.. I don't believe in having a strict policy on LOG-IN and LOG-OFF timing. Generally it happens only in IT / BPO companies. Its not so effective having such strict policy for sales/ marketing oriented companies.
If we are expecting employees to come in time ...... employees will also be expecting to go out in time...which is rarely possible to be happened. So I feel its better to restrict employee with job/task rather then restricting them with timings. If an employee has been assigned some work with certain TAT, the employee will automatically coming and going in time.
But, there are always exceptions..... if you find any one going out of hand you can council them or warn them with a positive circular.
