Hi...
There are chances that the company is offering more variable pay than fixed thats why the basic is less...
If you can share the salary structure we will be able to offer you more help, you can share your structure at if you have any problems sharing it here.
Thanks

Hi,
Some organisations have a fix % in which basic is apportioned i.e generally 35-45% of Gross salary. As lot many statutory components like gratuity, PF, Bonus etc depends on basic, many organisation put a cap on basic and keep it constant to Gross Salary or keeps it at minimum.
Compare both CTC structures & Understand the difference on benefit on retirals that you may face due to difference in basic.

Hi,
I totally agree to Archana's response. but it can be a issue of job location as well.
As if we compare the structures of metro and non-metro cities, we can see a huge difference. Generally in metro cities the sum of BASIC and HRA can go upto 75% of the gross income but in Non-metro cities it is close to 60%.
To get the exact reason/solution, you need to share the current and offered pay structure.
Feel free to share the same at .

Hello,
The industry standards for the basic Amount ranges from 35 % to 45% of the Gross Salary , if your salary structure meets this criteria, no need to worry.. Rest would be mainly based on the fringe benefits provided.

Hello...
I have seen the package i don't think its appropriate....
Negotiate on the basic a little more and then it would be fine.
The rest of the benefits are all very nicely mentioned and calculated its the take home salary you can negotiate on.
All the best
