Dear Kavita,
An offer letter is the letter of intent which may share that the job is offered to the candidate. It is issued at the end of the interview quoting the role, CTC, place of reporting and conditions for joining. Whereas a joining letter is one which is issued only once the candidate joins the organization. It may also be issued as the Appointment letter.
Why were you asking this question? What have you been issued that put you in doubt about the document.
Regards,

Offer letter is issued for calling you to accept the offer of employment offered by the employer with their terms and conditions.
Appointment letter is issued after you join the company with confirmation of your salary cadre and other necessary information which was issued alongwith offer letter.
Where are you facing the problem in understanding?
With warm regards

I got placed in one pune based IT company.they are not giving me offer letter but job profile which contain role, designation and salary detail but no detail about bond so I am confused. They told me to collect profile from their office.
I just want to know whether this job profile is similar to offer letter or shall I ask them for offer letter too???
