Hello

First of all I would like to say, be choosy for first job and your first job definitely creates impression on second job.

Where you are working. what is your job profile, how much you are getting all dose matter. So keep all the things in mind before selecting any job. You know you also keep in mind that early switching job is also bad sign.
Wish you best luck.

If you are getting good job offers than you can consider followings:
1.Select a good company / organisation ( MNC or LTD companies etc)
2.Ask them for a Breif Job profile(most important)
work tiings, working days (5 days or 6 days a week) - as per my view - for work life balance - 5 days a week is preferrable.
3. If the job profile is good then you can avoid giving importance to monies at initial stage.
If you get chance to consider above given criterria then you will be to:
Be stable because of good company
Concentrate and enjoy job because of work life balance ( belive its very very important, i am suffering from imbalancing now)
great learning and valuable experience because of good job profile.

Hello Dipika Sharma,
Further to what Yaasmin mentioned, let me add a few other points too.
First of all decide what your career priorities are--basically meaning where do you want to be 3/5/7 years from now. And then checkout which of the Offers you have in hand will enable/facilitate you to achieve your those goals.
Like Yaasmin said, never let money to be the First Priority in the beginning of your career--let's say upto 2-3 yrs exp. Once you prove your mark, money will follow--you can bet on it.
All the Best & Wish you a Very Happy New Year too.

Well Dipika,
Your first Job is like first Step on the ladder of success or Failure..so be cautious.
The things which you can certainly check is the market Reputation of the Company.
Your Immediate Boss' reputation , coz being a girl you have to be careful on this issue( this check is only possible if you have some reliable source in that company)
Check the Market trend for freshers pay and see If the company is offering you a package of market standards
Ask your interviewer that what would be you Job responsibilities? coz only responsibilities make sure that how much you gonna learn as First job is big time learning phase,.
These are the points which are coming in my mind at the moment.Wishing you a successful career in New Year
All the Best

Dear Dipika,
congrts!!! you are getting lot of offers. Since you have many offers select the best and the appropriate one. yes the first job has as a huge impression on ur second one. i totaly agree with TS.starting of career look for a profile in which u want to take specialisation. money comes behind you once u out-beat other factors. as per my experience:
1. go for profile
2.company profile
3. money.
in your second company, they give more importance to your experience and then the company. even if the previous company is not well known but if you have strong experience then it marks the standards of your previous company. the employee is the product of a company.

Neethu

Dear Dipika,
It seems you are quite concerned about your carreer.
Do give importance to the company's internal systems and procedures and the job profile, it is ir-relavant whether you get placement thru Agency or directly.
All the best.

Hello,

I am not going to add in the line of what others have said.

What I state is something different.

If you are going to make HR your life time career then you must note the following:

1) Be passionate about this function. Your commitment should be complete and unwaivering at all times.

2) On your first job, while other things (as suggested by everyone else are indeed important), you must try and get into an established organization (and not start ups) where the culture, policies, procedures and systems/procedures are in place. You can always improve them by following due procedure of the organization. This is so because, fresh out of the college, you are NOT conversent with these matters and they are VITAL to our function.

3) Try and seek out an opportunity to work under a good accomplished professional (he/she could be good mentor).

4) Work very hard with no concern for working hours, pay or comforts. The first job where you create a fooundation for future in this function and therefore you must be very careful in choosing this job. Keep learning, keep adding to your professional frame of reference.

5) Maintain a LEARNING ATTITUDE at all times, respect others' view points (they are not there by an accident, though you must not everything blindly!), do a lot of home work. First job is an extension of your MBA where you meet in real life and test out all that you have learnt in at the institute!

I can virtually go on, but these are "best five" as it were. If you deisre to ask more questions, don't hesitate!

Best of Luck.

Cheers
