PT Slabs are diffrent in diffrnt states because it comes under state govt jurisdiction. In Delhi & NCR there is no PT as all salaried are highly influential & closely related to Politicians-(Lighter side). For the benefit of members I am attaching the PT slabs for 5 states where we are having business operations.

Hi,Can you anyone provide me the latest Professional Tax Slab which has been amemded effective from April 2008
Posted 16th June 2008 From India, Calcutta
As per my knowledge,
PT Rs.
Salary/Wages up to 2500 per mnt Nil
2501 to 3500 per month 60
3501 to 5000 per month 120
5001 to 10000 per month 175
more than 10000 per month 200 (max)

It is also considered as the salary/wages per month exceeds 10000 in every month, P Tax dedcuction in the month of Feb of every year is Rs. 300/- In other words, the maximum P. Tax will be deducted in a year is Rs. 2500/- (200 per month from Mar- Jan & 300 for the month of Feb)

hi ,

I think the Ptax slab as attached for 5 states (xls by ajsaheb) ..is not the updated one. As far i know the minimum salary to be eligible for Ptax deduction for Kolkata is now ..Rs 3,000/- and not Rs 1,500/-.
