Dear All,
I have been working in the field of recruitment from last 2 years(1year in placment agency and 1 yr in corporate) but, slowly I have started realising that ,I am losing my interest in same profile . I wish to be an Hr generalist.With my 2 years of exp. in recruitment will other corporates will absorb me for a generalist post or I have to continue into same for rest of my life.Can anyone suggest me how a good CV can be prepared so that , I get offers for Hr generalist and not recruiter?

Dear MU,
Greetings!
Without prior exp in Gamut HR activities u cant able to get a job as a HR Gen post. I am not demotivating u. In ur present company itself u can take the task like T&D,Satutory Compliance, Employee Grivance etc.. Get exposure and then search HR Gen job.

Nice to see ur reply. When u start searching ur job, Try for HR Generalist even if u get a good offer from good company for Recruiter dont show ur intrest. Better start ur homework from today onwards.

Dear Mr. John,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I am working in a manufacturing setup, as the company is at the growing stage, heavy recruitments are goin on, coz of which at times even when I strech my working hrs, unable to complete recruitment process and as a result really dont have time to learn other things n ppl are also not at all co-operative.But I will surely follow your advice.It never to late to learn........

Greetings!
Spend 1 hour time and search relevant topic in cite hr and take print out and when u get bored or in free time read the content.
You have to split ur time and work accordingly.

Hi Minal...
i am working as HR generalist from +2 yrs... and finding it difficult to get a gud generalist opening.. have attended some interviews in the past few days.. and found that RECruitment was more favoured and asked for .
but yes.. having knowledge of the other areas should be takenup, so keep updating urself... but dont be disheartend abt ur profile.,... its surely will help you to get a gud break

Hi Minal,
If you are moving from Recruitment to Core HR, the number of calls you get will be very very less. I suggest talk to as many people as you can and let them know that you are keen in moving to Core HR. If you are serious in moving to HR then again you have to start your career from scratch and this Recruitment experience might not be relevant to the employer.
Try to look for profile as Jr.HR where in you are helping the senior with some report maintainance and generation. At the same time brush-up on few topics of HR which are very important in assesing your capabilities and interests. Topics like Performance Mangament, Handling employee grieviences and intiating new tasks etc.
Remember you might get calls for contractual position so be prepared mentally for that. You might face some difficulty in getting what you want....Have loads of patience and be optimistic.
