Dear All,

How can i maintain Attendance of all the permanent or Temporary employees working in Manufacturing company. Also how can i maintain attendance of workers whos salary, we are calculating on hourís basis for the whole month. (on basis 8 hours is a day)

Please help....

Please make two register for Permenent & temporary employees as the turn over rate of temporary employees is much higher than permenant.It will be more useful for monitoring workers.Sofar as maintenance of daily workers attendence concerne ,.wage card are available in local market where u can maintain daily in time ,out time ,over time as well as daily wage and soon after the month ends u copy the details from wage card to wage register.

How old is the manufacturing unit ??

Has anyone over there, aware of Time Office or the Token system ??

How do other manufacturing unit do this - have you tried to find out this ??

Before the advent of computers, there were certain manual system which were very robust.

What u can do is that you can install online attendance system ,where you can register the employe finger in the attendance system Through WEBSMART.Then employee will punch bothe while comin and while going and you can generate report on dayly or Monthly basia.

please let me know what should be the shift timings for the manufacturing company for all three shift ./

it should be 8 hrs /shift or we else as below listed which we are presently having

a 6 am to 2.30pm
b 2:30pm to 11:00pm
c 11:00 to 6:00am

what should be the shift timing as per labour law ruling .

Even though this is a very old method, this will be always a good and fruitful method on to my experience to avoid to loose the man Hours. If you are having time card system of manual you have to mark on daily system, if you wants to make hourly mark, and at the end of the month the total will come in days along with if you calculate the fractions like 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4,7/8. With this you can easily calculate the monthly wages with calculators.

Dear Satbir, Your factory working timing is correct and also it is under as per law. With regds, flyingstarter.
Pls prepare attendance sheet s.no wise which consists of Name , Fathers Name, Department, Code. No. Date , In Time, signature of worker, Out time, signature of worker, Total hrs worked , Security guard signature

Above attendance sheet useful for monitoring attendance of labor code wise pls also stick one photo in labor attendance card of the labor.

For legal compliance you have to prepare form 12 of every permanent worker

Manufacturing units do not follow any common system for attendance. Just marking attendance at the time of entry may not be sufficient. Some units permit people to go home for lunch. Some units have clearly defined systems for casual workers and OT. Casual workers need to be verified at two places - one at the gates and second by their line managers. We need clear systems and support for such functions. Some casual workers are paid on daily wages and some are on job contract. There are various permutations and combinations. Several software companies have attempted helping these issues but till date I have not been able to find any cost-effective and authentic software. Though, manual results are yet better, but even they are filled with lacunaes.. In case you need any proper guidance please contact me on my email id
