Hi
We recently floated 13 offers to 4+yrs Java candidates and only 2 joined so far...It is really painful when some candidates responds with silly reasons and some not at all responding.
We have incidents of candidates joined for a day and No show thereafter...
Can anyone give me suggestion to tackle this issue?
Thx in Advance

Hi
Would like you to consider the following :
1)What is the induction process you have for all new joinees?
2) Is all infrastructure (workstation, seating, PC) provided from day one?
3) Put yourself in your new joinees shoes - would you be happy with your current process?
Once you do this, also do a survey of your recruitment and joining process with those who have joined your company in the last 3 months.
Based on this you will have a clear idea about the gaps in your system. At the end of it, please dont take an employee who walks off like this personally. You just can't reason with some people.
All the best

Hi Sundu,
In todays market, this is prevailing because of the demand. We happen to interview people even after knowing that the candidate has two more offers in hand. Cases may vary for drop outs but its on the recruitment tracker that reflects.
Make sure that the joining time of the candidate doent exceed 15 days. This may help to anextent. However, there are candidates who join and leave the organisation. That means there is a gap.
In some cases if the project description and role are not clearly mentioned properly or the growth prospects are not discussed or if the candidate is recruited for a forecasted requirement and currently has no project alloted then the back outs may exists.
Make sure that you discuss the role clearly during the interview. Incase of forecasted requirment make sure that he is reciprocrated about the upcoming project status.
