Manpower Planning In Hospital - Placement Consultant

Bhoovi Started The Discussion:

Hi Everybody,

I am HR Manager of a 1500 bedded hospital & am working on the Manpower Planning piece.

I request you all to please send me some Data or Information on the Ideal Manpower vs Beds ratio (Doctor's, Nurses, Paramedicals & Administrative) so that i can plot something out of it.

Also, if some work can be shared on Manpower planning of a hospital, it would be really helpful.

Thanks & expecting a positive reply...

Dear Bhoovan Dev Singh Pawar, To begin with, you can conduct work study and method study. This will help you in doing your proper manpower planning. Ok... DVD

Dear Bhoovan,

You have raised a very general question without giving enough information about your operation. For example, how many different departments do you have? Do you specialise in one field (say, heart transplant)? Could you also kindly state where you are based.

Dinesh Divekar has given you sound advice. Time Study and Method Study come under the banner of Productivity Services. One needs training to conduct both. I was an ex Productivity Services Manager before moving to the academia. You can see my profile at ::: PROMENTOR CONSULTING ::: I have sent you a private mail also.

Kindly see Manpower Planning at Different Levels which gives you an idea of the amount of work involved in Manpower Planning for an organisation of that size.

Have a nice weekend.

Dear Bhoovan singh

There is a clear INC ratio between beds and staff Nurses, for others like doctors, paramedicals and support staff it all depends on from hospital to hospital and depends on the Hospital, its facilities, ie. how many specialities are there in the Hospital, please let me know, I will try to get the information further.
