what is the basic difference between recognition and registration of a trade union. can a recognised trade union be registered? how does a recognition process go on?

In any case, registration is must. Recognition is depending of multiple factors i.e., majority when multiple unions, management discretion etc....

Indian Trade Union Act, 1926 is a small enactment, but very important for any professional in the Industrial relations field. It gives the procedure for registering a trade Union with the labour authorities.
Recognition pertains to Employer and the Trade Union.
