AT TIME WHEN EMPLOYEES LEAVE ...WAT CAN B DONE????
Attrition today is very common ..be it in any field...... So the point is what should a company do with the people who are leaving their organisations???? Should it deal harshly with them or with cold shoulders or should they treat them as brand ambassadors of their company..stay in touch with them throughout eith the hope of gaining them back oncre again???? wat shd the co do??????

Hi Khyat,

To be clear we HR's cannot become the rivals of them who become our ex- employees as we have nothing to take or give, it is just a bonding with the company,
we should maintain good relations with the people who left the company, provided they have fulfilled all the required formalities with out any breech between them and the company, Moreover I have seen many companies welcoming the ex-employees to share their experiences & other ways which has to be improved since they know pros & cons of the company.
Person leaving a company may have several reasons to change, that doesn't mean that we need to show of our feeling for the results in there absence

Hi,

As you said Attrition is common today, then why you need to be harsh or soft with them. That all depends on the context.

Generally when an employee is leaving the organization, HR will take exit interview, in that interview he will ask about his experience with the organization, which will help the organization to know the loopholes and change accordingly.

There is no reason to be harsh with them. Infact if you are harsh, your relation with the employee is going to be completely terminated, which is not good for the organization. Because it creates ugly image on the part of existing employees and effects your new recruitments.

Be soft and try to get as much information as possible from the leaving employee in order to find the problem.

Dear Friend,

No Employee is going to stay with the organisation forever... not even you are going to stay forever....hence there there is no need to be unduly worried about attrition.....

But you need to be Concerned(not worry) only if a good number of your trusted/well trained/ experienced people leave in a hurry; which occurs rarely.

Also please look at the better side of attrition - It brings fresh set of ideas into the organisation along with newer experiences and creativity... in this aspect we may also say that a decent attrition rate may actually be good in the long term prospective....


Finally, always remember that every individual has his own aspirations and ambitions both from himself and his workplace, not all these can be satisfied; hence if he joins a place which provides these(or promises to provide for) , then its just natural.


So Relax, Chill and Enjoy your Work!!
