As you said Attrition is common today, then why you need to be harsh or soft with them. That all depends on the context.
Generally when an employee is leaving the organization, HR will take exit interview, in that interview he will ask about his experience with the organization, which will help the organization to know the loopholes and change accordingly.
There is no reason to be harsh with them. Infact if you are harsh, your relation with the employee is going to be completely terminated, which is not good for the organization. Because it creates ugly image on the part of existing employees and effects your new recruitments.
Be soft and try to get as much information as possible from the leaving employee in order to find the problem. |
