From "Sumaira Khan" : Can anyone help me of how to run MBO (Management By Objectives) appraisal system? what forms, steps should be involved in order to conduct this appraisal. i have JDs of whole staff with me, the need is of how to use them for appraisal.
Just to give some background of my company, it is an IT firm having 100 employees. they dont have any proper setup of HR, policies and performance management, all tasks are done on Adhoc basis. since there is no HR structure exist so should i go for MBO or is there any other appraisal system which is suitable for this situation.

Like Ed says, it requires professionals to set it up. I suggest that you read about it by searching the web to understand what is involved and the problems that you could encounter. For example, I found this site by searching BOLA: Staff Appraisal

Thank you Simhan for the site - BOLA: Staff Appraisal. My company is now trying a new method to appraise employees performance by projects which is similarly as MbO and this site has made it easier for me to explain to line managers how to go about doing this. Thank you very much for sharing.
