Hi All,
I am shiva shukla from bangalore. I am working with a real estate
company as an HR Generalist. I have around 1.5 years of experience. I
personally feel that i am not learning much here and i have given n no. of
interviews but not got selected anywhere. whenever i give interview ,
atleast for some of them i feel i really have given my best still nothing
is happening.
So, anyone can plz guide me that what actually is being expected by the
interviewer . what i should keep in mind while givin interview.
As, i really want to get into some good company and really want to work
with the companies where there is established HR Department and
functions.
I am really worried about my career. Is it really very tough to get
into some good company.
Someone plz guide me.

Shiva

Mr. Shiva,

It seems you are quite disappointed, but i must tell you if you are really looking for a HR Generalist profile you should wait until and unless you get a good opportunity.

You know to start of with Good Companis as you said is difficult but yes you can always approach mid size average turnover companies and there are many in Delhi.

As you've also mentioned that you were in a real estate company so you should now evaluated wht you did over there and wht kind of companies you're approaching now? Wht was you job profile there and wht is actually demanded were you'd been for interview.

Even if you talk about HR Generalist profile its so vast in itself, starting from Payroll Mgmt to Compensation and greviance Handling, Recruitment to Training and Development, Policiy decisions and OD interventions, Employee engagement to each personal detailing, Appraisals to HR Planning and many more.

Think about it and then evaluate your core competency and then appear for an interview.

All the best,

Shilpi

Hi Shilpi,
Thanks a lot for reply. i would really keep this in mind . but actually my problem is that i am a kind of one man army here. i m taking care for all the hr activities. n i m getting frustated here because firstly there is nobody to guide me on wat i m doin is correct or nt n wat work i m doin here here people are nt valuing my work. in hr terms no recognition of my work. n top management giv big big promises to employees and dont fulfill it and all employees question me and nt the top mgt. i somehow convence them but there is a limit for every thing. even i nt cleared about my actual job responsibilities also. i know i sounding very frustated bt wat do i do ?

In HR you also have to learn to manage diversities, I feel a one man army can really make you better trained in a generalist HR role. Another quality of HR is to be patient. Don't worry , your time will definitely come, but enjoy what you are doing. Remember efforts never go waste.

You Can Not Produce Experience In Factory. You Have To Wait And Mature For Expereince Because Generalist Hr Means Require Lot Of Experitnce To Interprete Law And Business Process. Badlu
