Interpersonal relationship defined as associations between two or more people who are interdependent, who use some consistent patterns of interaction, and who have interacted for a period of time

Interpersonal relationship include two or more people- Two close friends, Two co-workers

Interpersonal relationship involves people who are interdependent- your Junior office mate may be dependent on you for acceptance and guidance, you on the other hand might require his support and admiration

Individuals in interpersonal relation use some consistent patterns of interaction- A boss may always squeeze hand firmly of his juniors

Interpersonal relationship generally have interacted for sometime- When you place an order at fast food counter, you do not have a interpersonal relationship although participants use interpersonal communication to accomplish these events

We use interpersonal relation

To understand ourselves

To understand others

To understand our world

To fulfill our needs

To increase and enrich positive experiences
