Dear Mr.Umesh,

Would like to guide you on competency matrix since i've recently worked on it for the managers in my organisation.
I had to identify our managers on four grades i.e Performance, capability, criticality and loyalty.
Using these grades i'd placed them on the BCG Matrix from were i could identify my managers as Star,Dogs, Cash Cow and ????

Managers who were discovered as stars were the one who were actual performers and we went for giving them reward & recognition.
The Dog category is one were we know this maager can be shaped as desired and then can do good work for us.
Cash Cow is a category were you know the person won't stay long with you but yes, you can take good business from them till they are with you.
And ?????? this is a category which is of no good and its time to ask them to leave the organisation.

Believe me it has actually helped me. Try it out it may be of great help to you too.

Thanks,
Shilpi
