Dear All,
Can anyone guide me the relevance of "THE EMPLOYMENT EXCHANGES (COMPULSORY NOTIFICATION OF VACANCIES) ACT, 1959." in nowadays establishment ?
Is it compulsory for private companies?
Can you explain me in layman terms?

It is applicable in pvt. companies also. You have to fil ER1 Quarterly and ER 2 once in two year.

yes it is applicable to all companies irrespective of Privat or Public or Govt & non Govt. however as per section 3(1) there are certain establishment which are exempted for the applicablity of this Act which are as:-
(a) in any employment in agriculture (including horticulture) in any establishment in private sector other than employment as agricultural or farm machinery operatives;
(b) in any employment in domestic service;
(c) in any employment the total duration of which is less than three months;
(d) in any employment to do unskilled office work;
(e) in any employment connected with the staff of Parliament.
Except this it is applicable to all and there are certain compliance which need to be follow by companies.like notify vacancies before 15days of conducting test/interview, sending ER-I, ER-II etc.

Dear,
Thanks for reply....My company employee size is 15 & we are not into exemted establishment ............is EE act applicable to my compnay cause as per my knowledge, EE is applicable to company having 25 or more total employees .

ER 1 form to be submitted Quarterly and and ER 2 Format to be submitted Yearly.
