Recently the payment of gratuity amendment bill has been passed by the parliament and it shall come into force on such date as the central Govt. may, by notification in the official Gazette. Does it mean that the effective date of this bill is on the date of notification or any retrospective date ?

As the gratuity amendment bill 2010 has been passed by both the houses by voice vote.
as per language of bill it will be inforce on such date as the central govt may by notification of official gazzate
appoint.
Pl tell me whether the effective date will be Jan,2007 or the date of notification for PSU employee because the
BPE the governing body of PSU already issued a circular that gratuity limit will be 10 lakh wef Jan,2007.
Pl clear the doubt as lot of PSU employees retired between Jan,2007 till date.
