Dear Laxman,
HR Generalist Operation come up to executive Level in Retail industry as a Store HR, in Service industry, Hospitality industry, etc
Core HR touch in Manufacturing industry. core HR means individual Responsibility of IR,ER & HR, Adminstration & Training and development

Hi
In my view HR has various areas like Recruitment, Training, Competency Assesment etc. The HR generilst involved in all the activity up some extent. and in specialist role HR person involved in specific field.

In IT Industry:
Generalist & Core HR are more or less similar: In partnership with HR specialists (Recruitment/Training/C&B), Generalist must ensure that all HR services are delivered. High possibilities of heading the HR function for an organization.
Specialist: Primarly Recruitment/Training/C&B where you'll have specialists. They'll be highly focused on their specific function and these have less possibility to head the HR function of an organizatoin.

Hi,
HR Generalist: Includes HR Role and Also Little bit ADMIN Activities, like some processing work and arranging some facilities.
Core HR: Includes HR nothing else....its all about in to policy making and understanding the employees.

are we just discussing based on common sense or the theoretical and practical knowledge?. Because both Core HR and HR Generalist are very vague terminologies and each person will have a different idea of these terms. Again I find some data in some of the earlier posts.

Generalist HR: As it is very much clear form the word generalist, that the person having generalist HR profile have to look after the entire domain of HR, ie from Manpower Planning to Employee seperation & Exit Interview. its includes the function like Manpower planning, Recruitment, Selection, Induction, Performance Management, Time Office Management, Compensation Planning, Griveance Handling, Employee Relation & Statutory compliences. it mean the person who will be generalist profile may lead apex position of Human Resources Department.

Specialist HR : As it is very much clear form the word specialist HR, that the person having specialist HR profile have to look after the specific domain of HR like Manpower planning, Recruitment, Selection, Induction, Performance Management, Time Office Management, Compensation Planning, Griveance Handling, Employee Relation & Statutory compliences. It means the specialist may be Cell Head of his specific domain.
