Hi
I have been working as a trainee at Infosys Mysore for 3 months, I want to quit Infosys now as there are some family issues as well as I have options for further studies near my home itself.
Does anybody know the formalities I need to complete and if I need to pay any settlement amount, then how how much do I need to pay. Is there anyway in which I can avoid paying this amount.
Thank You

Yes I have, it says we are under a contract of an year from the day we get into production, I am a trainee right now and I get into production after another 2 months of training. The contract does not mention a specific amount to be payed.

Hey, it would be great if you have Vis-a-Vis discussion with your HR Manager. They are the correct persons to solve your problem. They will guide you with the company Terms and Conditions for your relieving.
All the Best.

  • Quiting any job / training is very easy, you have to just write two lines on paper stating that you are resigning and request for relieving. Then follow the process of clearance and relieving as informed by HR Dept.
  • More importantly, you should take a decision about quiting after due deleberations. I am not sure why you are quiting. I do not see any substantial reason for quiting. If you were to quit within 3 months, then why did you join Infy in first place? Consult seniors, friends and family members before taking any decision. Are you sure of having better option by quiting infy? I feel your opinion will not have much depth and value in this case, since you are young and inexperienced. You should surely take opinion of seniors and those having long industry experience.
  • As regards relieving formalities, contact infy's HR Dept. and they will guide you thru the process.
  • Do you have to pay any money? Answer is go thru your appointment letter, surely you will find a relevant clause there. Else contact HR Dept. to have clarity on this.
Thanks & Regards

Dear Raven, My advice is that you contact your HR department right away and they will tell you what to do. Don't feel hesitent to take their help. For them it is part of their role and responsibility. As much as they helped you to get on board, they will also help you to get off-board. After all you are not the first person to resign from INFOSYS. They would surely help you with the best of attitudes. Good Luck and test out what I and some others have suggested. You will be amazed that this was such a simple solution.

For 3 months of training Infy’s spending Rs.2.5 lakhs per candidate. Better ask Infy’s HR and openly tell your problem. With Thanks and Regards, S.Sriram
