I wanted to know about the conveyance exemption. I know that as per act conveyance exemption is Rs. 800/- p.m.
Example 1: if an employee is getting Conveyance allowance Rs. 800/- p.m. and he is on leave for 15 days. so he got only Rs. 400 as conveyance allowance.
Example 2: if an employee is getting Conveyance allowance Rs. 3000/- p.m. and he is on leave for 15 days. so he got only Rs. 1500 as conveyance allowance.
Example 3: if an employee is handicap and getting Conveyance allowance Rs. 800/- p.m.
Kindly suggest. how Conveyance exemption will be calculated in the above examples.

For a normal person, the law allows exemption to the extent of Rs 800 per month or the actual conveyance allowance paid, whichever is lower.
For a handicapped person (who is blind or orthopaedically handicapped with disability of lower extremities), the law allows exemption to the extent of Rs 1600 per month or the actual conveyance allowance paid, whichever is lower.
Example 1: The exemption is restricted to Rs 400 since the employee receives only Rs 400 as conveyance allowance.
Example 2: The exemption is Rs 800 since the law permits exemption to the extent of Rs 800 per month.
Example 3: The conveyance allowance is Rs 800 since the employee receives only Rs 800 as conveyance allowance.
