Minimum rate of wages prescribed by the central government or the state government whichever is higher shall be applicable?
Dear seniors we know that central & state governments issue notifications on revised minimum wages from time to time which is to be followed by all as per the applicability. as it is required to be mentioned here that i am working for a construction industry and here we are working for the industry which comes under the central government and the rate of wages of central govt is applicable. as per my knowledge the minimum rate of wages prescribed by the central government or the state government whichever is higher shall be applicable in my case. my question is whether in the minimum wages act or in any gazette notification it is written that " whichever minimum wages is higher for the given period should be applied " can any one having any evidence for this regarding applicability of wages if the organization falls under central govt. and the rate of wages of state govt is higher than the central govt.
The principal employer is asking us to pay minimum wages as per state govt notifications instead of central govt notifications

Contract labour minimum wages
Dear all we are telecom industry registered under central clra act we have few contractors like securitypantry workers etc.. one of our contractors giving state minimum wages to deputed employees here i have a doubt whether they have to follow state minimum wages or central minimum wages? most of them recommending contractor should give central minimum wages. but contractor point of view they have pan india services and providing services to all even the principal employer registered under clra act. also contractor telling that same kind of work done for all principal employer so we cant give central minimum wages... can you suggest me how to resolve this i need strong clarity regarding this.

Why minimum wages as approved by central govt. not implemented by out jharkhand state govt. for contract labour working in industries. central govt clearly mentioned that rs. 18000 / month will be the minimum wages which is to be mandatory for all worker whether it is on contract or direct labour for state also and state is independent to raise or fix the labour minimum wages above rs. 18000 / month but this rs. 18000 per month will be the minimum wages for all state as settled by govt.. of india for all state . this will be done as universal wages settled by govt of india for all state in india whether it is in any case of of worker it is contract labour or any where or any field or any category it is mandatory to fixed minimum wages rs. 18000 per month.
