Hi,
I ve joined a construction company where there was no HR dept.
My immediate task was to set up one. I did it to a certain extent
with making personal records for every one, then rolling out a
performance management system etc.
Now Iam engaged in devising the HR Policy for the employees.
Can any one guide me in this. It has to be comprehensive and
objective. Starting right from manpower planning till separation
including statutory obligations and other welfare measures.
Can any one help?

do you mean a employee handbook or a complete orientation of HR? What Policies are you putting into place - at least initially.
let us know so maybe you would get some quick hit responses
Cheers!

Hi Gopi
Tks for the suggestion, but I am more concerned with the employees of
my company ie the project manager, project engineers, site engineers
site supervisors, stores manager, et al. Even though I am trying to take
care of the compliance related to contract labour too, my work is on
a bigger scope.
regards,
