Dear
In accordance with section 4A a provision was made for taking of compulsory insurance by the employer for his liability for payment towards the gratuity under this Act from L I C or any other prescribed insurer but at the same a notification was required for enforcement of this provision which have not been issued so far. Even then some the employers have taken this insurance from the LIC of their own without any compulsion or statutory force.
Forfeiture of gratuity can be made keeping in view the provision of section 4(6) of this Act.

hi,
one of my friend is working in a private company from Aug 2002.
he is resigning from there on June 2010.
in between 2002-2010, he went 2 times to u.s for 15 months on a intra company transfer.
he was transferred to u.s 2 times before completing 5 yrs of continous service in india.
will he be eligible for gratuity?
what is the diff betw gratuity and group gratuity?

Hi everybody,
I have worked 4 years and 10 months in a School run by a Private Trust. Please let me know whether i am eligible for gratuity or not. As per Amendment in 2009 Teaching profession also added in the gratuity act.
