Dear all,
My question is related to Competency Models.
As per my knowledge, there are eight competency models/frameworks:
1. Organizational Competency based Competency Model
2. Commitment & Competence based Competency Model
3. 5-Level Competency Model
4. Job based Competency Model
5. Generic & specific Competency Model
6. Managerial, Behavioral & Functional Competency based Model
7. Organizational Goal linked Competency Model
8. Technical & Behavioral Competency Model (for non-managerial staff)
Can anyone help me comparing and contrasting all the above models and recommend which model is best suited to be used as framework for Competency Identification/Competency Profiling for Management Staff for an IT company and WHY?
I am looking forward for your response as i am in mid of completing my assignment for the same and need your help now.

Dear Ditti,

I do not know how much time you were given to develop this. Here is an abstract of a paper. I am not sure if you have seen this.

Wiley InterScience :: Session Cookies

Here is a link to how Hewlett-Packard, where our son worked as a dierector, developed a CM for its sales force. The Competency Modeling Approach <link updated to site home> I suggest that you write to Maggie LaRocca.

Here is another link to a very useful page http://www.careeronestop.org/compete...efinition.aspx If you click on the model and various aspects of the model more details are revealed. I hope this solves your problem.

The above were found by Google search at competency models + comparison - Google Search

Have a nice day
