salary negotiation
Hi Friends,

I m working as a HR. so can u plz gv me some tips on salary negotiation.
there is a situation like this: The candidate u r hiring is offered Rs. 31000 per month 'cash in hand' after all deductions but he wants 35000 but you hv to close him at the max cost of Rs. 33200. According to the company policy there are 30 PL nd 12 CL (leaves).

Can any one help me in this situation i.e the right kind of negotiation required.

I face this situation usually but as i m new to this job so i m not able to handle this situation easily.....

Offer salaries competitive with the market rates. If the profile is really important, then dont hesitate. Ask the candidate that even though his expectation might be valid, the company would like to hire him as prospective employee and would like to know if it is possible for him to join us at a cost of 33200/- put this up in one sentence and give the candidate some time to think.

You cant just negotiate with the candidate to join your company or force them to join at 31000/- . But make it very clear when you mention 33200/- that it is now or never, tell the candidate if he wants some time he can take it and then inform you regarding it.
