Basic sal reduced
Hi All,

I have a doubt in this matter. Am working in an MNC thr a Consultancy. My Basic pay was 3000k and DA is 513k. But my HR told since DA has been revised she needs to adjust with the basic sal, and it has been reduced to 2495 and DA has been increased to 1018. Can she do like that???? Can basic be changed??? In the salary slip there is no break up for Basic and DA. Together its been mentioned as 3513,but in the wage slip there is a difference. So pls do suggest me how to go abot this

Dear Sonu,

The basic can be changed but there should be a proper procedure that has to be followed.
Whenever there is any revision in the salary, a letter from the HR has to be issued stating the revision of the salary and also the salary break up should be mentioned in the letter with the authorized signatory and the company seal. This will help you when you are looking for another job.

Dear Sonuambi,

Its right that DA keeps on changing but one should not reduce the basic in order to adjust it. DA keeps on changing to meet the standard of living.
As nisha has rightly mentioned, ask your employer for a revised salary proof with authorisation.

Regards,
Swati
