One thing company dont get any loss in this type of activity. I dont know whether its right or wrong. But to be practically thinking this is right everyone wants to earn more but at the same time company pay for hr manager is very low thats why they doing like this.

Ok let see others exp in this regard.

I feel we should make mms clip of the so called HR Manager taking this money from consultants, and then make it public.

I feel anything in this line is an absolute No. I don't understand how people even justify the case here. its a strict No. Today its gift tomorrow what not. It purely depends on the ethical standards and value system of the the individual as well as organization. As far as what injury or damage it causes to the company, it rottens the value system in the company.

yes u r right, but am not hr manager just a executive, i didnt ask anything from consultant its a corporate culture they give some compliment for recruitment drive. see many companies hr dept will get compliment from all colleges for recruitment even colleges ready to give compliment. I know the value of money this is not a public money just a consultant business investment.

ha Ravi,
well this is an great issue that usually happens off screen. But when it comes to onscreen they just manipulate this.I don't know how far this is true in the present scenario. To my knowledge all big MN C's have cc cameras where the cant do it within the company but there are chances of them taking it outside but i think comparatively the number of people bribing has come down.

Dear All,
I agree with Ravishank. I have got enough cases while doing the ref checks in this regard.
Though in principle HR is a noble fraternity there are balck sheep in this as well.

Following are some of the modes.

a) Getting commission from consultants.

b) Getting commission from canteen and transport contractors and it is a very big racket in transport. Some even invest and run vehicles of their own under the contractor. Especially this happens in BPO's and call centres.

c) Some have opened consultancy in dubious names/ names of their spouses and all requirements will go to the said agency alone.

d) I have come across some characters who get a monthly ration supplied to their houses from canteen contractors!!

Kind regards

Every body should mind that once you accepted any thing ie., Bribe / Gift you have lost your respect. I have seen one small Labour contractor sitting infront of a HR Manager and questioning him left right centre and on enquiry it is the manager who takes some percentage from the contractor.

The people who don't have ethics and prefer easy money will do such type of things. Yes there are people on both sides in the HR Faternity and the consultants / contractors / suppliers etc., etc.

There are instances where the consultants / contractors / suppliers instigate / try to influence to make the business. A person don't have ethics and weak at his personal values will accept and the others don't but unfortunate thing is that even if one guy in the department accepts the innocent / honest / genuine people in the department of that organization also get blammed.
Pl. beware that the person who has offered the gift / bribe will ride on you and you are not respected and you have to live like a slave.
Thanks and regards - kameswarao

Well Balaji, i see that you r very frank in saying that you accepted the compliment amount from your consultant. Its a bold move.
Also, if any consultant offers me any kind of compliment/gift i would NEVER EVER accept it, what so ever the amount be / which ever state im in. I being a HR would bring in decipline and honesty into the organisation and not go the other way myself. I am very confidently saying this cause i have been offered such gifts and have denied all the quick bucks i could have made.. i might sound rude to this competitive world.. but this is me

Thanks,
Anupama
