Job desc. for Content Expert in Training
Dear all,
I am trying to help my colleague to create a new job description in her directorate.
She's the Continuing Education Director and she's planning to open a new position: Content Expert in Training.
Her business unit is Consulting and Training.

I have the general information regarding the position, but I am finding it difficult to set the key area of responsibility (general) and the work management (detail - sub of key area of responsibility) for a completely new position.

Anybody here has a reference for me to look at?

thanks for replying.

The company is a foundation of many business units, and the business unit that is looking for a content expert is the consulting and training unit. Its main unit is actually an educational institution (school, univ., etc.)

Hope the following description help you:


Key Responsibilities

*Design and development of training materials
*Using existing Instructional Design theory to create storyboards, scripts and course content
*Advising on the planning and prioritisation of training design projects
*Conducting quality assurance and user acceptance testing on all training materials created to ensure products meet client requirements
*Researching, evaluating, and recommending solutions to improve existing training suitability and impact
*Specification of graphics and other visual requirements for development
*Write appropriate assessments linking back to the learning objectives.
*Create pre-learning assessment.
*Carry out research on relevant topic.
*Identify graphics for training courses.
*Ensure training material is produced in budget and on time
*Maintain project file containing relevant project/script information.
*Filing and backing up of all relevant documentation and scripts.


Candidate Requirements

*Experienced in developing learning materials
*An understanding of training theories, methodologies and techniques
*Strong knowledge of and several years of experience designing training material
*Ability to be creative whilst working to strict deadlines
*Ability to work effectively alone and as part of a team
*Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
