TDS on Salary
Hi
if I am not permanant employee of office. my salary is of Rs. 10,000/- professinal tax deduction is there

I am working since a year. till now I am as Assistant. now office offered me the post of Co ordinator (till temparary & no hike in salary No other benefits)
Now they are saying that they are going to deduct my TDS is it possible have they right?
Please help

If you are a consultant, then they will deducted TDS @ 10.3%. Am I right, seniors pls correct me if i am wrong.

Since, you are not on payroll therefore the company will deduct TDS on your monthly amount.

Your income is exempted upto the limit of Rs.1,60,000. Once the company is making payment more than that they have the right to deduct TDS. If you don't want to allow them then fill the self declaration of TDS claiming your income is not taxable.

Thats fine but they appoint me as Assistant & now they are saying that they promoted / Shifted me as Co ordinater without increasing my salary. there is no salary slip also

that means you are under contract. so they will not issue salary slip. but they should give some document saying that what are the deductions. its left to the company to decide about your post.
